We've been really busy getting ready for the new delivery of "Vis-A-Vis"; but, amongst all the work, the FAT crew had a chance to go to the theatre!
「Vis-A-Vis」ラインの次のデリバリー（10月11日）に向けて、僕達はバタバタしています。
しかし忙しいなか、FAT crew で舞台に行くきっかけがありました！
We were invited by FAT friend Sakai Maki to see her in the comedy "Sharp-san, Flat-san." Theatre is very different from Cinema, but this show was interesting as it blurs that difference really well.
FATフレンズの坂井真紀さんから、
坂井さんが出演しているコメディー「シャープさんフラットさん」に招待していただきました。
本来、舞台は映画と全然別物ですが、
うまくその違いをボカして見せてくれて面白かったです。
Japanese humor is very different to me, so I had to be careful not to laugh in the wrong places - I think I did OK (laughs). The performers did more than OK though, they were all awesome. I don't know how they do it...
日本のユーモアは、僕が慣れ親しんだものとは少し違うので、
みんなとは違ったところで笑ってしまうのではないか！と心配していましたが、
なんとか普通の「観客」を演じられたと思います（笑）。
出演者のみなさんは、当然「なんとか」ではなく、とても演技が上手。
役者さんってすごいですよね．．．

An FAT partner lent me some new music recently...

先日、FAT のとあるパートナーさんから、いろんな CD をお借りしました．．．
当然新しいものには「アタリ」「ハズレ」がありますよね。
これは大アタリでした！

こうやって新しい「好み」を発見できることはすばらしいですね．．．

Along with the magazines you might know, we've also been working with a lot of magazines you might not know. My favorite from this month was "LiVES" - an interior and culture magazine.
みなさんがよくご存じの雑誌と仕事をしながら、
実は意外な雑誌ともたくさん仕事をしています。
そんななか、今月号で個人的に好きなのは「LiVES」です。
「LiVES」はインテリアやカルチャーを取り上げている雑誌。
FAT friend "Maeda kantoku" was featured in LiVES for his upcoming film release - "The Schoolroom Pig."
今月号(41号)の「LiVES」には、
FAT フレンズである「前田監督」がフィーチャーされていて、
11月1日全国ロードショーの「ブタがいた教室」についてインタービューされていました。
I think "The Schoolroom Pig" will do well at the box-office - Japanese film is kinda booming right now: Toho alone made 15.7 billion yen in August!
「ブタがいた教室」は、とても評判がよいです。
ストーリーの良さはもちろんですが、
今は日本映画がブームになってる気もするし．．．
東宝だけで8月に157億円も売上げたらしいです！
That aside, Maeda kantoku loves red - so I wonder if at the Premier of "The Schoolroom Pig" he'd wear his red PLIMPSOULS on the red carpet? (laughs)
まぁ、そんな話より．．．
前田監督は“赤”が大好きなので「ブタがいた教室」の試写会では
レッドカーペットで赤い PLIMPSOULS を履くんですかね？(笑)

Remember the scene in "The Devil Wears Prada" where Miranda schools Andy about the color of her sweater? "That's not blue, it's cerulean..."
彼女と「プラダを着た悪魔」を見たことありますか？
あの悪魔みたいなボス、ミランダが、
新人アシスタントのアンディーに説教するシーン。
「あんたの今日のニットは、ブルーじゃなくてセルリアンブルーよ・・・」
That's being "color conscious." And it's also the theme for our FAT shoot appearing in MEN'S NON-NO tomorrow!
それがいわゆる「カラーコンシャス」です。
そしてなんと！明日発売の「MEN'S NON-NO」に掲載されている
FAT特集のテーマも「カラーコンシャス」！！
We chose this theme with MEN'S NON-NO because "Vis-A-Vis" is actually the first time FAT has ever made a colorful Fall/Winter season. We're really proud of the achievement, and we want to show as many people as we can. Check out the feature in MEN'S NON-NO tomorrow!
なぜ「カラーコンシャス」というテーマに決めたのかというと、
実は「Vis-A-Vis」が、FAT初のカラフルな秋冬ラインなんです。
「秋冬」らしさを保ちつつ、
元気な配色あふれた今季のラインナップには誇りを持っています。
できるだけたくさんの人に、この「Vis-A-Vis」を見てもらえるとうれしいです。
明日、9月10日(水)発売の「MEN'S NON-NO」をぜひ見てください！
Oh, and the MEN'S NON-NO staff were all very nice - no devils to be found anywhere (laughs).
ちなみに「MEN'S NON-NO」のスタッフはとても親切な人たちでした。
「悪魔」的な様子は全然なかった（笑）。

ジョガー達はサングラスをかけるけど、
ロッカーズはかけないことが不思議でしょうがない．．．

You know the hardest part of shooting is actually after the pictures are taken.
撮影でいちばん難しいところって、
実は写真を撮ってからかもしれません。
For the SMART shoot our camerawoman (laughs) took some great pictures, and the models were supergood - which all means choosing the photos and the order of them is really hard!
明日発売の SMART での FAT特集の撮影では、
カメラウーマン（笑）に撮っていただいた写真がすっごく良くて、
それに、モデルさんも最高のパフォーマンスをみせてくれて．．．
ということで、
どのショットを使おうか？
どんな順番で写真を見せるのか？
本当に難しい！
Then there's the formating, text, titles, and color checks before printing. This is what the guys have to think about after the shoot while they check the pictures at the computer.
それから、どんなページフォーマットにするのか？
テキストの内容は？どんなタイトルが良いだろう？
それと、印刷する前の色稿のチェックは．．．
撮影後、こういうことを考えながら、
mac の前で写真のチェックをします。
As for me, I concentrate on the free food (laughs). Thanks SMART!
僕はと言えば・・・
撮影現場に持ってきてもらったお菓子を気にしてます。（笑）

彼のボスは、右下にボケて写っている石黒ジュンジさんです。
You'll have to wait a little longer to see the shoot in COOL, but Junji-san took some amazing pictures. They were so good you can see Saitoh-san still worrying about which ones to use after the shoot (laughs).

もうちょっと待たなきゃいけないけど．．．
撮影が終わってもサイトウさんがまだ真剣に迷ってしまうほど、
良いカットばっかりでした。（笑）

These posters have been around for a while on the Tokyo Metro haven't they.
結構前から東京メトロの駅で見かけるこのポスター。
I think they are really well made - I like the copy, and I like the illustration; most of all they are much better than just a "don't...!" type warning.
良い作りですね。
コピーもイラストもそうですが、
根本的に「（何々）禁止！」的なメッセージに
振らなかったところにセンスを感じます。
So, I don't think anyone does this anymore, but I prefer to listen to music at home. Not while I do something else, just sit and listen to an album start to finish. Try it out, you find so much extra detail...
ちなみに僕は「家でやる」派です。
何かをやりながら音楽を聞くのではなく、音楽を聴く目的で、
椅子に座ってアルバムを最初から最後まで聴きます。
あまり誰もやらないことだとは思うけど。（笑）
そのほうが、より音楽のディティールに気付くことができるので．．．

We had a shoot with our friends from SMART. This time our cameraman was Morizaki-san - maybe I should say camerawoman? That's her on the right...
先日、SMART での FAT特集の撮影がありました。
今回のカメラマンは森崎さん。あれ？「カメラウーマン」と言ったほうが正しいかな？
ちなみに、右に写っているのが森崎さんです。
I'll have to ask her about her title next time....(laughs)
次にお会いしたときには、ちゃんとした？肩書きを聞かなきゃ．．．（笑）
